Terms of service

Last updated: 10 October 2026

These terms apply to website builds, hosting and care plans provided by Tailored Digital. Your written quote, together with these terms, forms our agreement. If the quote and these terms disagree, the quote wins.

1. Who we are

Tailored Digital is a trading name of Tom Kitchen-Dunn, a sole trader based in Gwynedd, North Wales (“we”, “us”). Email: tom@tailoreddigital.co.uk. We are not VAT registered.

2. Quotes and our agreement

We’ll give you a written, itemised quote describing the work, the price and the payment terms. Our agreement starts when you accept the quote in writing (email is fine). A quote is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise.

3. Prices and payment

  • Prices are in pounds sterling. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added.
  • Website builds: payment terms, including any deposit and when the balance is due, are set out in your quote.
  • Care plans and hosting are paid monthly in advance, or yearly in advance for hosting only, by card or Direct Debit.
  • Invoices are due by the date shown on them. If a payment is overdue we’ll remind you first. If it stays unpaid, we may pause work, or suspend hosting after giving you at least 14 days’ written notice.
  • Extra work outside the quote or your plan is agreed with you in writing before we start.

4. Your 14-day right to cancel (consumers)

If you’re buying as a consumer (not for your business), the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you the right to cancel within 14 days of accepting our quote, without giving a reason. To cancel, email us a clear statement that you want to cancel. You can use this wording: “I am cancelling my contract with Tailored Digital for [service], accepted on [date]. Name, address, date.”

  • We won’t start work during the 14 days unless you ask us to in writing.
  • If you ask us to start and then cancel within the 14 days, you’ll pay a fair amount for the work done up to the point you told us.
  • If the service is fully completed within the 14 days at your request, you lose the right to cancel.
  • We’ll refund any money due within 14 days of your cancellation, using the same payment method.

Business customers don’t have this statutory cooling-off right.

5. Cancelling after the cooling-off period

  • Website builds: you can end a build at any time by email. You’ll pay for work done up to that point, and we’ll refund anything you’ve paid beyond that.
  • Care plans and hosting: these run month to month (or year to year for yearly hosting). You can cancel at any time by email. The service continues until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and we won’t charge you after that.
  • When hosting ends, we’ll give you a copy of your website files and database on request, and help move your domain if it’s registered through us.
  • We can end a care plan or hosting by giving you at least 30 days’ written notice, or straight away if you seriously break these terms (for example, illegal content on your website).

6. Your website and content

  • When the build is paid in full, the website we design for you, and its content, belong to you. Until then, we keep the rights in our work.
  • Themes, plugins, fonts and photos made by others are licensed to you under their own licence terms, which may include renewal costs. We’ll tell you about any of these before we use them.
  • You’re responsible for the text, photos and other content you give us, including having the right to use them and making sure they’re accurate and lawful.
  • Domains are registered in your name.

7. Hosting and care plans

  • Hosting is provided on 20i’s UK platform. We’ll take reasonable care to keep your website online, secure and up to date, but no website can be guaranteed to be available all the time.
  • Your plan’s monthly allowance of changes doesn’t carry over to later months.
  • Please don’t use hosting for illegal content, spam, or anything that harms the platform or other users.
  • The host takes backups, but we recommend you keep your own copy of important content too.

8. Personal data on your website

If your website collects personal information (for example, through forms or a shop), you’re the data controller and we act as your processor. We’ll only process that information to provide our services and on your instructions, keep it confidential and secure, use only suppliers bound by similar terms (such as our host, 20i), help you respond to requests from individuals, tell you without undue delay about any data breach we become aware of, and delete or return the data when our services end.

9. Our responsibility to you

  • We’ll provide our services with reasonable care and skill. If you’re a consumer, you have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and nothing in these terms affects them.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law.
  • If you’re a business customer, we aren’t liable for loss of profits, loss of business or indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
  • If you’re a consumer, we’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We aren’t responsible for losses that weren’t foreseeable, or for business losses.
  • We aren’t responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as a problem with the hosting platform or a third-party service.

10. Problems and complaints

If something isn’t right, please email us and we’ll try to put it right quickly.

11. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. We may update these terms; the version in force when you accept a quote applies to that work, and we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice of changes that affect an ongoing care plan or hosting.
